Do I need electrolytes if I'm not an athlete?
Yes. You lose electrolytes through sweat, urine, and even breathing. Stress and caffeine consumption also deplete magnesium and potassium significantly. If you drink coffee, feel afternoon energy crashes, wake in the night with leg cramps, or live in a warm climate — you are likely chronically low in electrolytes even without formal exercise.
Why no sugar? Don't sports drinks need sugar for absorption?
The old sodium-glucose co-transport model was used to justify sugar in sports drinks. While glucose does enhance absorption slightly, the co-transport mechanism works just as well with low glycemic sources or naturally-occurring carbohydrates (like those in coconut water powder). Adding 28g of sugar to get marginally faster absorption is a poor trade. Glycinate-chelated electrolytes don't require glucose for absorption at all.
When is the best time to take HYDRATE+?
HYDRATE+ is designed for any time of day. For athletes: 30–60 minutes pre-workout for loading, or during exercise for maintenance.
